I for one cannot!  If you are unfamiliar with Ado Leopold he was a leader of modern environmental ethics and wilderness conservation.  I highly recommend you read his famous book A Sand County Almanac.  It’s not about herps but it is a wonderful read that every field and conservation biologist should have in their bookcase.
