Past TWH Fundraisers
We raised $700 during our 2 year and 4 months long (Sept 2012-Jan 2015) fundraiser for the Reptile, Amphibian, and Fish Conservation Netherlands (RAVON) program SOS Vuursalamander. The SOS Vuursalamander program was set up to help save the last remaining fire salamanders in the Netherlands by establishing breeding and captive facilities. Fire salamanders in the Netherlands and Belgium and possiblely other areas in Europe have suffered massive population declines due to the newly (2013) discovered chytrid fungus Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans (Bs). With all the donations we were able to adopt five fire salamanders – Benjamin, Jordi, Tariq, and Fuego. Sadly Benjamin died from Bs infection but the other four salamanders are fine and healthy. Thanks to everyone that donated! Special thanks to Save The Salamanders and Madison Area Herpetological Society for their large donations.
The Wandering Herpetologist and Center for Snake Conservation Fundraiser
We raised $871.59 during our year long (Aug 2012-Aug 2013) fundraiser for the Center for Snake Conservation. Donations were raised by selling stickers (see image below) for $5 per sticker. Thank you to everyone that donated!

Amphibian Survival Alliance: Saving the Quito Rocket Frog
Adopt-a-tadpole to help raise funds for a rapid rescue to pull frogs from the path of deadly volcano. The potentially imminent eruption of the Cotopaxi Volcano in Ecuador is threatening to wipe out the last surviving population of one of Ecuador’s flagship species, the Critically Endangered Quito rocket frog (Hyloxalus jacobuspetersi).
