Alan Cameron has been working as a volunteer for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission since 2005. He lives in the Asheville area of western North Carolina and his specialty has become the Green Salamander (Aneides aeneus) which is listed as rare and endangered in that state. The picture shows Alan with his new license plates. His friends call him the ‘Salamander Whisperer’ and people who are not so much his friends call him the ‘Salamander Nut.’ Over the years he has seen many things about Greens and other salamanders which are not mentioned in the literature and he plans to share some of those things here.
